The rewards of being a guide
Most discussions of being a guide or a mentor focus on the person being mentored and the value of that experience for them. But, what about the person doing the mentoring?  Is it simply a matter of sacrificing time for the person(s) being mentored, or does the mentor benefit from the experience?
The answer is an overwhelming…YES!

 When you build into the life of another person, you grow as well. You receive the greater blessing.
 You are fulfilling a biblical mandate. Mentoring is illustrated in 2 Timothy 2:2... "You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them along to others.” (Click here for examples of mentoring in the Bible.)
