What if your first two or three jobs don't take you where you want to go?  It's stressful to constantly be looking for another job.  Besides, it's no fun! 
 

Furthermore, what if you wind up in a career that lasts forty to fifty years but is basically boring? Now there's a depressing thought!  If you think there must be a better way, you're right, there is.
